Customize Your “Protect, Live, Dream” Goals-Based Workflow

You can now customize and promote your own unique messaging and approach to behavioral finance within Orion Planning. This enhancement provides you a more flexible, personalized experience to support investor behavior conversations by enabling you to customize headlines, the number of buckets that will be displayed (2, 3 or 4), and the titles and descriptions of those buckets. In addition, you can drag and drop asset types across buckets and preview any changes before saving.

Easily Create More Deferred Compensation Accounts

We’ve expanded the number of clients/accounts you can service by adding an input for you to model deferred compensation plans more specifically. This enhancement complements our current menu of deferred compensation account types e.g. 457, 401 (k), 403 (b) and better accommodates your retirement accounts that include this kind of asset.

Client Portal

Coming Soon: Share Secure Documents with Third Party Cloud Storage Integrations

We’ve made it easier and provided additional options to securely share documents with your clients in the Client Portal.  You now have the ability to connect the Document Vault to third party cloud storage providers ShareFile, Dropbox, Box, Egnyte, and NetDocuments.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Client Experience > Settings > Documents > Cloud Storage Enabled (turned on) > Advisor Cloud Storage (connect account)

Portfolio Interactions

Access Risk Intelligence & Stress Tests in Portfolio View

By adding the Risk Intelligence and Stress Test functionality from HiddenLevers into the Portfolio View, we have provided you with comprehensive investor oversight and fully integrated risk analytics with Orion. You can access all the functionality of these two HiddenLevers features in the context of the client you are reviewing in the Portfolio View. This feature will be tied to the ‘hiddenlevers app’ privilege and will only be available for those who currently have this enabled in their role.

Coming Soon: Portfolio View Available in Redtail!

By combining Orion’s open architecture platform with Redtail’s CRM, we are transforming the way advisors grow their business through a cohesive, tech-driven experience designed to connect every stage of the advisor-client journey. We’ve added  the Portfolio View from Orion Connect into the Contact screen in Redtail to provide you with the core technology you need to efficiently complete your day-to-day operations and enable you to review all of the key household/account summary info, allocation, activity, and performance details within Redtail. This also includes our integrated tabs with Orion Planning and HiddenLevers.

 

If you need to edit data  on the client record in Orion, the Editor tab will still be available to make and save updates.This will link the Orion Household to the Redtail contact when the initial integration is established.

Access Risk Profile & Stress Tests in Orion Connect

To help connect all your client data in one centralized platform, we’ve added two key HiddenLevers data points into the Orion Connect API. This enables  you to authenticate once to Orion and then call data from HiddenLevers. The two endpoints currently available are for the Risk Profile and Stress Tests and  require an active and connected license with HiddenLevers and the Orion Household to be imported and linked. 

We will continue to explore additional endpoints including creating new clients and retrieving proposal data.

Easily Run Multiple Reports at the Same Time with Report Packages (Beta)

You’ve gained more flexibility when creating client-specific report packages through the ability to run multiple reports for selected client(s) at the same time.  In addition, Report Builder now includes the ability to save, access, and delete report packages.

Access All Your Client Data in One Centralized Report

Easily connect all your client data in one centralized platform through this Report Builder enhancement that enables Orion Planning users to include data from the Client Portal within reports. In addition, Orion Planning Action Steps and Orion Planning Goals Sub-Reports are now available. Be on the look out for Orion Planning Net Worth Table & Orion Planning Net Worth Charts that are coming soon!

Cater to More Clients with Alt Text On Images Within Reports

You can now cater to more clients with accessibility tools. This Report Builder enhancement enables you  to add an explicit alt text field to the image stored in the database; which will provide clients the ability to use the alternate text added to images while reading the PDF document.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Report Builder > Custom Reports > Create Report > Add Image > > Upload Image > Edit Alt text on image within configuration
Access Enhanced Date Range Report Settings

This enhancement simplifies the selection of a start date method by including the option to select inception, holding period, or AIP ledger within the start date/start expression drop down.

Additional Security added to SFTP Queries

Gain additional security when scheduling a query using SFTP with the ability to test the validity of the credentials used.

Gain Efficiency with Report Batch Folders in the Client Portal

This enhancement provides you greater efficiency through  the ability to decide where report batch reports are saved and create new custom folders in the Client Portal.

Custom Imports

Improve Your User Experience with Account Update Custom Imports 2.0

We’ve empowered you to improve efficiency, increase speed, and enhance the client experience by  transitioning the Account Update import template to Custom Imports 2.0. This is one of the largest imports we have, and are excited for you to start experiencing the improvements that come with this move. 

How to get there: Orion Connect > Custom Imports > Account Update

 

New Fields added to Asset Update Import 2.0

We’ve added the following fields to the Asset Update import: 

  • Is it Active: True/False 
  • Excluded from Bill & Payouts: True/False 
  • Pay Bill Fee: True/False 
  • Updated naming of the “Advisor Only” to “Manually Managed Advisor Only” 

These changes will not prevent you from processing Asset Updates using the old template but it is recommended to re-download the new template to include these fields.   Any Asset Update import built or edited within the validation screen will also include the above changes.

New Fields added to Product – Local Settings Import 2.0 

We’ve added the following fields to the Product – Local Settings import:

  • Orion Product Name
  • Product Name Override
  • Use Global Tax Settings

These changes will not prevent you from processing Product – Local Settings imports using the old template but it is recommended to re-download the new template to include  these fields..  Any Product – Local Settings  import built or edited within the validation screen will also include the above changes.

Import Templates: Alphabetizing Now Available 

We’ve alphabetized the Import names on the Import Templates tabs to help make it easier to find the import you need.

Import History: Date Filter Added 

We’ve added a date picker to the right hand panel of the Import History as a second tab to help the  Import History screen load faster. .   We defaulted the history grid to load the last months of imports and users can expand the date range to return more results as needed.

Import History: Delete Import Capabilities

We’ve added the ability to delete custom imports and tie it to a new role privilege called “Delete Imports,” located at Privileges > Actions > Custom Imports: Delete Imports. Users with the privilege enabled can delete any Import with an import status of  “Validated” or “Validated Errors”. Users may select one or multiple rows in either or both of those import statuses and right click to have the “Delete” button returned in the right click menu.
