Transition from Quovo to Plaid for Data Aggregation

Orion Planning uses a third party tool named Quovo to power our data aggregation functionality. We will be transitioning to Plaid later in August. This transition will allow Orion Planning to utilize the best version of Plaid’s data aggregation services now and going forward. Please note, any clients who have previously linked their accounts will need to re-authenticate their connections once the client has been transitioned to Plaid.

Side by Side Plan Comparison- Retirement Goal

In Orion Planning you’ve always been able to use our What Ifs to create multiple plan scenarios. Now you will be able to highlight up to 4 plans on one page and show the clients how changing key assumptions will impact their overall plan success. Please note, the Side by Side Comparison will only be available for the Retirement Goal initially and we will look to add this comparison for other goals in the future. The ability to include this comparison page will not be available in the PDF but we will look to add this option in the near future as well.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Advizr > Goal Results> Retirement > Compare Plans
Advanced Reports PDF Text Enhancement

In Orion Planning you have the ability to create custom outputs using our Advanced Reports functionality and then include these reports in your PDF output. Based on feedback we received, we improved the text color to be darker so that it is easier to read.

Integrations

Custodian SSO Contextual Links in Portfolio View

We have added our Custodian SSO links from portfolio audit, Insight, and the retired Household Overview tool to the Portfolio View in the new Homepage. Now while viewing a client’s Schwab, TDA, Pershing or Fidelity account, you have the ability to seamlessly launch into that custodian’s web portal, conveniently into one of several contexts (homepage, service or action center, documents, move money, alerts, research center, and many more).

This is the first stage of many more planned features to add custodian access, data points, and calls to action right at your fingertips from the Portfolio View Dashboard.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Homepage > Portfolio View (Choose a Client) > The ellipsis “...” dropdown in the upper right corner.
Multiple Rep Assignment and Custodian Rep Code Field Added to Salesforce Integration

Orion has extended its powerful feature of being able to assign multiple reps to a household now out to Salesforce so that you can review the group of individual reps associated with the client.

The custodian rep code field is now also available in the data sync and can be added to the representative record in Salesforce.

How to get there: Salesforce > Household and Representative records

Portfolio Interactions

SMA Setting in Portfolio View

We have added a control to the cards in the portfolio view which gives the ability to toggle on/off SMA’s. When turning this card setting on, the SMA will roll up the assets in an account to a single SMA asset/value. Note: if your firm does not have the Allow Separately Managed Accounts (SMA) Entity Option enabled, you will not see this setting in the cards.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Portfolio View > … menu on card > Edit Card
Portfolio Detail Grid

Similar to the landing page of Household Overview, we have added a summarized detail grid that captures important client information found on other tabs.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Portfolio View > Summary tab
Portfolio View Detail Grid Updates

We have updated the detail grids to give you the ability to easily search, filter, adjust columns, and export data. Any changes you make to your detail grids will auto save and be ready the next time you load a client in the Portfolio View.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Portfolio View > Detail grid
Entity Name Updates

We have added custodian and fund family as additional options to display your client account names in the Portfolio Tree and cards.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Portfolio View > … menu > Settings > General: Accounts > Display Name

Reporting

Multi-Currency in Report Builder

You now have the ability to change what currency you run reports in.  We have had a number of firms ask for this development over the last several months and we have now made it available to you.  You can set this default currency at the household level or adjust it one off when running reports.  Our initial offering will allow you to run in 10 other currencies other than US Dollar.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Reporting > Run Report> Choose household and date > click next > General > Household Currency Override> Run Now
New Tag: Account Active Status

One of our more requested new tags for queries and reports was a tag that showed whether an account is active or inactive.  The addition of this new tag will really improve the flexibility of tools like Query Builder.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Query> Query Builder > Edit or create new query> Click columns > Select Account Active Status > Save
Account Change History Custom Import

We have added the ability to update Account Change History en masse.  Prior to this development adding in a large number of account change history was an account by account process.  This development will create efficiency and scale for your firm.  To review how Custom Imports can work for your firm, review the “How-To and Overview : Custom Imports” Orion Support article.

Data Reconciliation

Data Processing Speed and Quality Enhancements

We’ve optimized our transactional file processing to apply custodial transaction data significantly faster and with greater accuracy. These changes will positively impact all custodial transaction files loaded through the Orion Confirmation system.

Additionally we’ve refactored our sleeve data processing logic to also allow for significant improvements in processing times as well as much better data and reconciliation quality and accuracy.

FolioFN Custodial Cost Basis

We’ve introduced processing logic to allow us to load in custodial cost basis data for the FolioFN data format. We receive Position and Transactional data from FolioFN already sleeved and the Cost Basis data at a portfolio level.

With this new logic every sleeve’s assets will have the appropriate lot prorated and applied at the proportional percentage.
