Household Overview To Be Replaced By Portfolio View

Soon, we will be replacing the Household Overview with the new Portfolio View. This change is designed to improve speed, enhance the user experience, simplify fact finding, and increase operational efficiency for your firm. To help make the transition to the new Portfolio View more seamless, Household Overview will be available until December 19, 2020. At that time however, Household Overview will be discontinued and only Portfolio View will be available.

NOTE: Schwab Openview Gateway will continue to be available in Portfolio View. The Prairie View Integration will not transition to Portfolio View. We will work directly with affected users to help them transition.

Billing

Default Representative Option

Now an Advisor has the ability to change the default representative that is assigned to all new households, by selecting the Default Representative box inside the representative edit screen.  Please be aware that changing this default could result in a rep seeing account information for client’s that are not under their representation.  Best practice is to create a “New Account Rep” or your firm’s name (“Show Me the Money Financial”) as the default representative instead of an actual individual.

How to get there: Firm Profile > Representative > Choose Rep and right click > General > Default Representative > Save
Ability to Update Billing Pay Instructions

Previously if an advisor ever wanted to change the message on an invoice about the pay method, they would have to provide the message to their Orion service team and wait for Orion to update that message.  Now an advisor has the ability to change the message without having to reach out to Orion. We have even added balance due and due date tags so the message can display invoice specific information within the message.

How to get there: Firm Profile > Bill Pay Methods > Select Pay Method> enter message in Invoice Text box > Save

Reporting

PDF Inserts for One Off Reports

Up to this point the only way you could have a PDF attached to an Orion report was to run the report in the Report Batches App or append one manually using a third party program. Not anymore. We have added a new insert option to Report Builder that allows you to include a PDF within standalone reports. We have even more development planned to really round out this new functionality – so stay tuned.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Report Builder > Edit Report > Media Dropdown > PDF
Model vs Actual on Charts

One of the most requested items we’ve heard from our advisors was enhancements to our Model Inclusion Grouping within Report Builder. Model Inclusion splits out what is in a respective model and what isn’t. After launching Model Inclusion we had a number of firms ask to see this information combined into a single element and that’s where our new Model vs Actual grouping comes in. This shows what is in model and what isn’t within a single table instead of breaking it out. Even better – you can now use this grouping within a number of our charts.

How to get there: Orion Connect > Report Builder > Edit Report > Chart>  Grouping : Model vs Actual

The redesign incorporates more data points, risk stats and views, the addition of Portfolio Groups, breakdown of IRR intervals, Dynamic Benchmark returns view, and After Tax Performance view and breakdown.
